The Line of Best Fit

Both the stark realism of the romance-averse blue-collar settings and potent musical left-turns make The Imperial sound thoroughly authentic, as opposed to a trip through someone else's back pages.

The lyrics tell a beautifully damaged story, but the production and songwriting is lackluster across the album and the overall album feels basic and uninspired.

Favorites: Cheer up Charley, Let's Be Us Again, Holly the Hustle, That Old Haunted Place

Wonderful, beautiful voice
