Horrendously boring with a couple of oustanding guitar riffs thrown into the mix on occasion

Feel this has some Anna Von Hausswolff vibes at times. Nice instrumentation and vocals but for whatever reason I find this weak. Tows the thin line between meditative and boring a lot. Still pleasant just not very interesting or expressive, I wanna like it more but, agh.

Outstanding record I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s on my AOTY list when that time comes.

Beautiful dreamy vocals accompanied by psychedelic rock. I can’t find a flaw here. My rating may change with time.

This album is truly breathtaking

Psychedelic rock from Mexico. Tracks introduces krautrock trance and the songs stick in the head ;)

cohesive, pretty consistent and decent production. I liked this, but i think some of the shorter tracks aren't really finished. the long tracks are decent tho

The pulsing atmosphere of Double Negative meets the eccentric echoey vocals of Aviary meets the hazy production of Preoccupations - which is all to say the influences are a little obvious. Still, it's surprisingly catchy and I do enjoy moments like the throbbing build of "Ana" or the surprise 80s turn on "Inundacion." Kinda like Shame last year, this thing has the advantage of coming out during what's otherwise a fairly dead time for music releases, but I'm glad for that ... read more

buen Dream pop, pero le hace falta un poco más de brillo, se pierde el hilo fácilmente de el centro de atención, pues no se siente ni se sabe a qué elemento darle más importancia

First great album of 2019!

The duo really contradict their album title by making De Facto feel so unreal and out-of-this-world, with elements of Psychedelic Rock and Ambient Pop roaring from beginning to end.

some tracks, such as the closer, last too long and others don't have enough highs to make the song replayable, but other than that this record is relaxing and nice to have on to chill out

My fav: Unificado in music layer brings memories ... (The Doors time's). Nice riff's and that's all for now. Maybe later, it will envolve.

There's a good intention, I can see it, though, the record is longer than needed.

A standout psychedelic rock album with some incredibly sticky riffs. I especially like some of the longer tracks like Unificado. The Spanish art pop vocals are mysteriously entrancing, and the seamless transitions on some of the songs make the whole project feel pretty cohesive.

Favorites: Ana, Acción Vaciar, Unificado, Inundación, “Lux, Lumina”, Resistir, La Maga

Worst: El Derrumbe

Some REALLY cool instrumentation, but the vocals don't do much for me and at times they sound like they are just demos for what would be attention holding tracks.

This album accomplishes many sounds. From psychedelic rock to dream pop, it has a bit of everything. The lengthier tracks like Unificado and La Maga, are shoegaze anthems. While I was never bored by this album, the shoegaze elements did make time slow down a bit for me. The lack of English lyrics makes this album a little harder to access, but it also makes rating this music all about the music and not the poetry.

Highlights: Líneas En Hojas, Unificado, La Maga

I can't understand a damn word of this. Sonically it's pretty nice tho

The soundscapes presented are fairly interesting, and while it may at times fade away into the background if you aren't paying close enough attention, De Facto certainly rewards those who do.

Odiaba los sonidos de guitarras distorsionas, odie la voz de la cantante ahogada en los sonidos y odie lo monotono que es.
Ojala puediera analizar su lirica, pero es imposible.
Ana fue una de las peores cosas que eh escuchado.

"De Facto" is a collection of simple, uneventful tracks that left me feeling zoned out and bored out of my mind repeatedly. Although the occasional great idea sometimes pops through, it is quickly suppressed by a wall of drony noise that is lacking in both feeling and texture.

"De Facto" is a meditative record, with long winded instrumentation and heavy distorted bass line melodies. I get what the album is going for but honestly I find the execution was quite sloppy. I ... read more

An album that makes a flying start and instantly favorable impression. Its dreamy and experimental textures are engaging and despite a language barrier, I found the vocals to alluring and inviting. However, as the album continues on it becomes a little grating and even at times boring. Despite this, a high quality release early in the year.

Best Track: Líneas En Hojas- This track conjures up images of the now disbanded Hookworms sound on their last album. Its a catchy and groovy track ... read more

One of first experimental albums of 2019, "De Facto" is just regular. Experimental music usually stream atmosphere, situations, adventures through abstract beats which the mission is make us feel things we usually doesn't feel often with regular songs. It's a differente way to tell stories. A need to be felt. "De Facto" is noisy when have to be noisy, but even with that sounds a bit empty and random.

“De Facto” is sonically incredible and has plenty of solid performances. Some tracks can drag for a while, though.

Least Fav Track: El Derrumbe

Their best album, yet I appreciate their integration of spanish into dream pop, which seems to be spreading. Some cuts can seem repetitive and overall the album draws out a little for me, as well as the fact that the delivery is a little lackluster ( not in a good way). This album intrigues me because of its mix of Psychadelic Rock and Dream Pop. Yet, overall, a very solid experimental ambient, dream pop record with an edge and with its own twist on the genre and its own instrumental ... read more
