Consequence of Sound

Over the course of its 12 tracks, the record manages to redeem the spotty moments of the band’s comeback record, remind listeners of the endurance of the hits that came before, and, in Whang’s increased vocal role, even hint at some potential evolutions to come.

Electric Lady Sessions perhaps best functions as the defining calling card of a post-reunion LCD Soundsystem.

Recorded in the famed New York studio of the same name, this session captures a moment of arresting chemistry among longtime collaborators who sound excited to be playing together again.

Not sure how they managed to make songs that were already 10/10s better but here we are.
It's been a longggg time since I last tuned into this band and this is just what I needed to remind me of their greatness. This lived up to pretty much all expectations I held for the band at this point. The covers, the classics, and even the new stuff was all incredibly impressive. Lots of new music coming out, and I still find this rerecording fresh and exciting! Watching LCD Soundsystem live was the most empathically claustrophobic experience I have ever had. There are lots of members surrounded by towering electronic equipment. From afar, it looks like a strange type of half-human half-machine monster. I think this album helps captures that claustrophobia better than their studio albums. I like how the instruments reverb in the space. The whole band feels present; the ... read more
