☆☆☆☆

Kill Bill's deep, stark delivery heightened by his confidence contrasts so well with Rav's child-like cadence and self-destructive tendencies. Both of them fly so well over these cloudy, abstract beats. Underrated duo, underrated chemistry. One of the best Hip-Hop albums of 2019.

Kill Bill is pretty much who I'd be if I was a rapper. The insane amount of 2000's kid references, plus that Hopsin diss. Jesus. What more could you want.

These lyrics man, they don’t mess around. New Moon was a pretty good listen, certainly had some very high quality moments that I was really into, and then other moments that really didn’t move me emotionally or physically. The absolutely pinnacle of this album is Dirge, an incredible track with a beautiful vocal sample, top notch rapping, brilliantly gut wrenching lyrics, love it. Both artists performed well in this album, and despite not being one that I was ... read more

These guys are so consistent. Although not my favorite Exociety related release so far, this album is not to be slept on. From front to back there is enjoyment to be pulled from each song, and some songs especially more than others.

The standout track is "Lovedrug (off that)". I can't say it has the two's best verses but MY GOD WHAT A CHORUS! Kill Bill's voice and flow sinks in so damn well with that beat, and Rav's "duh duh duh duh dah" makes me ascend. His short, ... read more

"Wish I was younger, ignorance was convenient
Getting older I feel like, knowledge became my weakness."

new moon, a collab album between indie hip-hop artists rav and kill bill compliments the duo's best side of each other, with bill's cold delivery of his vocals and rav's introspective and brooding writing. in this episode of guess the sound of the album it's very clear from the cover what we're going to get, a very slow-paced, almost dark and very simplistic album. while almost ... read more

I never knew that collab these two artists are gonna blown out of bad toxicity in a fictional relationship of a woman. Most successful heats in lyrical content and production still have time to observe a piece of telling the world lies ahead.

Kill Bill and Rav sound like everyone's neighbourhood rapper but they're actually good.

Quick rating change, this is really good.

This album is way better than I expected it to be, I love the sound and lyrics. The whole album has this city vibe if there were a genre for city electronica that's what this would be. The album has an orgasmic beat throughout the whole thing, a very vaporwave-ish sound. It seems to tell a story of sorts with each song having links to previous ones, and the sampling made throughout the LP. The actual vocalisation is fantastic, the contrast between Rav ... read more

fairly enjoyable cloud rap project. First time listening to either of these artists, and coming out of this I am definitely interested in Kill Bill's future. Rav is near obsolete on the whole project and at times his voice and delivery are annoying. The beats range from vibey to bland. There's a small amount of chemistry between the two, but this being a collab does little more than pad out time. Overall I'm interested, but won't be returning to this project much.

Rav and Bill are such a match made in heaven. This is probably where they blend the best.

The delivery of the lyrics mixed with the uniqueness of the production makes this album a really fun jam, while I do think some songs kind of overdo in some factors. Still, this album gets me repeating a chorus in my head for an entire day after I come back to any song and that's one of the few cases I let the lyrical parasite eat my brain whole. Songs like these remove my cerebral kaijus.

New Moon is a project that has as many solo songs from the two as it does shared songs between the two of em, mixed up like a bag of candy. It takes nearly five minutes to hear Bill on this project which is kinda funny. A logical continuation of the Ramona / Beneath The Toxic Jungle pipeline sonically and a fantastic mix of the two artists sounds up until this point. A gorgeous nostalgia filled journey down the bubbly alleyways of a city that doesn't exist.

there are so many good songs on this album it's insane. the standouts are something else in the world of abstract hip-hop, shit slaps.

Rav and Kill Bill are sort of polar opposites but they somehow make one of my favorite hip hop albums to put on while chillin with my friends. It's really easy to listen to and has really nice variety to keep you entertained through out

Both rappers bring out the the best of eachother, KB and Rav are really a match made in heaven honestly.
Instrumentally New Moon isn't as exciting as some of either of the rappers solo efforts, but it's consistent. And that's really good I think, nearly every track has something to offer, little space feels wasted.
Yeah I'm contented by this, it's great to see two rappers step into their own and try and master their craft. And to see them work so well together here makes the long time ... read more

FANTASTIC

After checking out VESTIGES, I thought I'd listen to the project that put Rav on the map for me. New Moon is his collaborative album with Kill Bill, and yeah, it was worth the hype! I was pretty surprised to see Airospace get a feature here; I kept on getting Airospace vibes from VESTIGES, but after some Twitter lurking, it's nice to know these guys are apparently friends. The beats on New Moon are on par with those on VESTIGES, and while I definitely prefer the latter more than the ... read more

I came into this album very unfamiliar with both Rav and Kill Bill:The Rapper, but New Moon has made me a fan of both. The cloud rap project is a super unique combination of lo-fi rap, jazzy hip-hop and even some soul influences. Kill Bill definitely steals the show, his delivery throughout is calm and collected, but still super effective. Songs like “Cult” allow him to show off his elite lyricism and storytelling ability. Rav also has stellar moments. “Saffron” really ... read more
