the official debut from the microphones is incredibly ambitious, quickly finding comfort in a sound that is unique and captivating
I feel like I'm being pulled closer and closer to nothingness with each listen
Okay im continuing on listening to The Microphones discogrophy and as oposed to "Tests" that i listened to before this i feel like this is really a album where you can hear the more focused and ambitius side of The Microphones. This album has a lot in comon with what i love in The Glow Pt.2 including the track I'll Be In The Air wich is, i guess a early version of You'll Be In The Air? I do belive these tracks are supposed to be connected in some type of way, but im just making up a ... read more
Phil Elverum's first album immediately sets him in stone as an amazing artist.

This album is immediately amazing just based off of the first 20 seconds of "Ocean 1,2,3" a song that starts off slow but builds up beautifully in some of the best examples of lo-fi rock intensity I've ever heard with intense drum fills going into a pretty banging rock song.
