As reinventions go this lands somewhere close to last year’s Ben Howard album - it’s darker, plus a little more abstract and atmospheric than the artist’s previous output. A similar underlying fragmented dreamlike beauty pervades.
i really like it but at the same time it's so loud and i get stressed out
I don't know why it took me so long to get into this album but it's been sat on my recenta basically since it's release.

It's a good album, sometimes great but I can't seem to get into it, and I'm not sure why. I like it and can recognise it's a quality album but just have no urge or desire to listen to it at all.
An album that both transcends and stays thoroughly trapped within the folk-genre. It is brimming with untapped potential, but still succeeds in being an emotional and varied experience, that is well worth a listen.
a dynamic, emotional album with hushed lyrics, complex instrumentation and tracks that build up to deafening cresendos. more duds then hits for me, but the standout tracks are too good to not shout out

STANDOUTS: don't settle, fool's game, the closing door
