Not quite as special as his previous album but if ever there's an artist who's got into an effortless groove when it comes to releasing high quality new material it's Finn.
EDIT: ok, I now think this is at least as special as the previous album - if not more so. Bump.
If you haven’t heard the name Craig Finn then you’ve been missing out on a great storyteller. Finn’s bold yet serene brand of Americana rock brings his characters to life in a way that is genuine, earnest, achingly relatable and hopelessly lovable. On top of that the music’s rambling, organic style coupled with Finn’s earthy vocals is a marriage made in heaven to my ears.

Shallow narrative songwriting about cliched issues makes for weak art, especially when every song drags on while failing to make much of a musical point. This album comes across like one long run-on sentence over-explaining the most mundane mechanics of everyday life.
