I can't shake the fact that Cory Hanson (lead vocalist) has that uncanny resemblance to Thom Yorke's vocals. Good thing is, this record shimmers all the way through its massive 14 track album which expands from grungy, garage rock to an expansive psychedelia sound. An adventurous, rewarding listening experience.
Great album. Love the melodies and production. Some songs sound like removed tracks from the In Rainbows session. Radiohead comparisons aside, I love the production and tone on the whole thing. I really wish that track Tortoise was removed from the album, I don't get it at all.

Wand is a psychedelic/alternative band from LA and they keep busy, with having released 5 albums in 5 years and here we get their newest release Laughing Matters through the indie label Drag City. I tend to have issues with bloated albums that go past the one hour mark (which this does), but I really enjoyed the variety of styles they cover within its time.
