Seeing Other People initially appears slick and self-obsessed, very nearly to a fault. But scratch below the surface and there’s tongue-in-cheek humour.

The Line of Best Fit

Seeing Other People is a complete journey through the emotions of a breakup, and the endings that we have to battle through in life.

70
AllMusic

Seeing Other People nonetheless feels like a return to the strutting rock & roll spirit of the band's earlier albums.

70
DIY

Despite the spruced-up surface, the bubbling undercurrent of ‘Seeing Other People’ remains a troubled one.

Pitchfork

The troubled outfit's latest album bitterly recounts the Decline of Foxygen.

Loud and Quiet

It’s more concise than the 24-track trawl through 2014’s …And Star Power, and less self-indulgent than the glammed-up baroque pop of Hang, but it’s got less sincerity than both put together.

This album did throw me off quite a bit. Not that I'm unfamiliar with Foxygen. I've listened to Take The Kids Off Broadway and did enjoy it. It's just that being familiar with their music doesn't really help whatsoever for knowing what they're going to do next.

When the single Livin' a Lie was released I was anticipating a more accessible album. Also, I fucking love that song by the way. Face the Facts was very different sounding to Livin' a Lie, but I still loved it and it was equally as ... read more

While News is one of the best Indie Rock songs on the year, the rest of the albums fails to be anything quite as substantial. Foxygens latest Glammy effort can easily be seen as one of the weaker contributions to their discography but content is still content I guess. Not an awful record by any means, just no where near being on par with their last record.

I'm really on the fence about this one. As much as I like some of the cuts here, this album doesn't feel like it knows what it wants to be.

Hum ... Kinda meh. They are far away from the level of their 2nd album (but far above their horrible 24 tracks album haha)

This isn't a real bad album, but I'm perplex because they have the hability to create good songs and they don't exploit their full talent. When I hear this album, I hear a young band with big classic rock roots. Sometimes they throw quirky moves but it fails to batched with their roots.

Pretty disappointed, Hang showed some good ideas that needed to be expanded.

While there were a few cuts on here that are mediocre at best, "Seeing Other People" is a hooky and well-produced, albeit messy, record in Foxygen's discography
