Ominous is an overused word when writing about frightening experimental music, but Purge expresses the feeling in its entirety: the dread of waiting for the inevitable, the horror of it coming, and, perhaps scarier still, the anxiety of what might be left after it's gone.

a really solid and sober record and a surprisingly well directed album for a debut. i can definately sense the subtle influences of big names of the electronic scene here, particularly arca during her mixtape phase, but dis fig does enough to separate themself from their inspirations and stablish their own particular sound
