I only skipped through some tracks but I already got the impression that this is a bad record with bad production, underwhelming vocals and cheesy songwriting.
"In Search of the Miraculous" has a few solid tracks, but the instrumentation is bland, the hooks get worse as the album goes on and the entire album is filled with indie rock/dream pop cliches. Overall, it fails to surprise.

an uneven effort that sounds like a thin EP trapped inside the body of a fat album. there are two really good songs here, the opener "Murmuration" and the piano-driven "Argonauts", but heavy reliance on cliches, along with generally uninspired percussion work, kills a lot of these songs. this is not even to mention the relentless cheesy guitar solos that I don't remember being present on their first two albums. I was looking forward to this one, so color me disappointed.
