As good as “Always Something” is I can’t shake the feeling that this is taking a regionally successful DMV rapper and repackaging him in a very manufactured and calculated way.

This EP by Maryland rapper ADÉ sees him delivering an eclectic and enjoyable selection of sounds over varied production and with an impressive list of features.
It opens with the only song whose title doesn’t start with “SOMETHING”, “PLAY SOMETHING”. Always Something is a fun EP from Silver Spring, MD rapper ADÉ (DMV represent !!). There's not too much depth, but the production is solid and ADÉ's performance is admirable. There are also definitely some flaws. The mixing on the opening, "Play Something", is simply horrendous. I thought my speakers were fucked up but that's just how the song sounds, which is a shame because the beat is smooth and there are great sampled vocals, the mixing just ruins it. Such a good EP. Ade looks playful by molding his flow onto somewhat pop productions. Well recommended.
