is it bad to say this is one of my favorite projects this year
I didn't particularly care for the last EP I heard from Avenade titled "Here's to the Prejudice." In my eyes, the fusion of power pop and lo-fi and dissonant garage rock was far too stale and one note for my liking. Avenade on this new release however, is able to explore different sound this concept presents much more thoroughly, and is able create some simplistic, but relatively interesting musical motifs as a result. After heavy anticipation, the new Avenade release has appeared.
And it's heavy.
This EP has definitely seen a darker and more serious twist to the noisy and punk DIY sound Avenade emblazons so much on his previous two EPs. This EP ditched the clean and cute-boy vocals from songs like Wilkerson and instead provided pretty awesome and gruesome screams that perfectly accommodate the low-tuned guitars I caught by surprise. Honestly, a lot better than the debut album. The opening track is phenomenal and draws me in so much, I could give this a high score based on just that one song.
The second song is a lot slower (compared to the opening track at least) and sets the tone for the rest of the EP, it's noisy, and it's catchy.
The third track is a little cringy ngl but it's ok, probably the weakest on the ep but still a solid song.

This is an extremely solid EP. It's noisy, catchy, chaotic, and just constantly in your face. I wish this was a full length LP because god DAMN this is some good stuff. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for any future releases.
