No self-made rapper with an actual come up releases three major label albums less than a year after they get one big soundcloud hit. Adam22 and other culture propagandists hyped this guy up and now he's on the charts. The labels saw Lil Peep's death as a sign that there was money to be made in emo rap and it was pushed to the mainstream in the months following his death. Interscope is getting away with shit like this now and the market is totally cool with it.

I work at a middle school full of angsty tik tok making preteens, I think that I am more than justified in saying that I don't have the highest expectations for this album

Review: I came into this with very low expectations, and I guess you could say they were slightly exceeded. As soon as I saw the run time on this thing, I knew it was gonna be the emo-rap version of Scorpion, which it was. What I mean by that, is that this record was full of half assed bullshit tracks with poor mixing and ... read more

first 5 songs are amazing. no joke they are incredible.

6th track is really pop and underwritten. it is boring and laughable.

picks up at Big where he does his travis Scott impression. the sound and feel of this album is great. robbery is stupidly good.there are a lot of impressions of peers on this album.

the xxx impression on syphilis is unlistenable

from track 1 to 10 it is a strong 7 to light 8

I am bored at track 12

I wouldn't say it's as inherently bad as everyone makes it out to be, but my god there are so many tracks on here that just didn't need to exist. There are definitely some GREAT tracks here, such as [see favourite tracks], but even then that's not even half the album. I don't know, Juice WRLD's voice just gets so tiring after TWENTY TWO tracks. There are some highlights vocal-wise and production-wise here and there though.

Also people actually like Robbery? That has to easily be one of the ... read more

Ok. Feel free to kill me for this opinion, but it’s not really that bad compared to what other people are saying. Before I went into this, I was quite concerned about the length of the project, but after listening to all 22 tracks, it’s ok.
Some of the songs are pretty good. Flaws and Sins has a pretty good rock influence; Syphilis reminds me of the old shit that XXXTENTACION & Ski Mask used to do together; & Who Shot Cupid has an incredible vocal performance.

This is a grower for sure. At first I thought this was an exhausting listen, but after multiple plays I learned to appreciate Juice WRLD's second studio album.
Much like Playboi Carti or 21 Savage, the monotony of the record takes some time to get used to before fully digesting. This album is packed with emo rap bangers after bangers and extremely catchy hooks. The main issue with this is obviously It's length. Although the songs here are enjoyable, Juice doesn't really switch it up throughout ... read more

Horrendous

I'm sorry but... I'm really not feeling it bud. I feel like the only really good song on this record is The Bees Knees, only because it's somewhat different from the rest of the album. Other than a couple songs here and there, this album is formulaic and boring emo thoughts of a guy who really can't stop being a crybaby about love.

Yea sure maybe this is not for me but
This Juice WRLD ALBUM IS NOT GOOD

For one the album is very long standing at 1 hour and 12 mins and Juice WRLD is not a artist that is capable of making a 1 hour album entertaining, most of the songs sound very blant and uninteresting with your typical trap beat emo rap instrumental and juice WRLDs overly auto tuned annoying voice

Atleast Good Bye Good Riddance was decent

This album is just shit

A homage of the twisted metal game cover wont save this for being too long-winded and overdramatic. Some of the melodies on here is pleasant enough but juice wlrd lyrics border being too over sentimental and childish that reminisce of the edgy pop punk in early to mid 2000s. Despite these major cons, I have to give it up for the production on here being at-least consistent. At least with the many trap artists sounding one to another, juice wrld is in a different path even if the path isn't all ... read more

im just making a compilation of the worst lyrics at this point since the only redeeming thing about this album is the production

"Her pussy wetter than olive oil, my watch cost a hundred more"
"its ok cause im rich, sike im sad a a bitch""
"back on my bullshit devil emoji"
"On my gun is a dick, I'm gon' fuck your face with it, uh"
"Bitch I'm the GOAT, bitch, you suck"

GOOD!

Don't get me wrong, I'm just as sick of these projects that are hopelessly padded out to oblivion as the next guy. It's actually miraculous that I made it to the end. But despite its length, I believe the strengths nearly blind me from the flaws Death Race carries. (This feels like a deluxe version of a really good album)
I think the second half is better than the first. I found myself waking up after "Ring Ring", nearly everything after that was quality.

Boring. Repetitive. Only few tracks have replay value. Also very long album, it was painful to listen 22 tracks, and most of them sounded the same. Same themes and same kind of production in songs.

Fucking hell! At least "Goodbye & Good Riddance" had some enjoyable cuts here and there. "DEATH RACE FOR LOVE" forced me to go through 72 MINUTES of samey, shitty material. There are a few good moments in the track list and that cover is just fucking awesome! But this album just felt like torture and I already wanted to leave 5 tracks into this 22-track record.

Juice WRLD needs to make shorter songs and keep his albums under 30 minutes. Robbery and Fast are certified bangers, and there are a few other worthwhile songs on here too. Here's my abbreviated tracklist:

1. Empty
2. Maze
3. HeMotions
4. Fast
5. Robbery
6. Flaws and Sins
7. Ring Ring
8. Out My Way
9. 10 Feet
10. Make Believe

Juice WRLD is the little rookie of 2018. He released one of the biggest hit of 2018: "Lucid Dreams". I do not really understand the hatred that people have towards him. In reality, Juice WRLD makes simple music for teenagers and is one of the most important figures of emo rap. The rapper / singer grew up in a strict religious home that forbids listening to hip-hop. His musical education came from video games and movie music for franchises like "Tony Hawk Pro Skater". His new ... read more

Edit 1: This was too soon, and while I didn’t particularly enjoy your music that much, I think this is too soon, and sadly, I think he is going to go down the same path XXXTENTACION and Lil Peep went down, being robbed by his record label, I feel terrible, he doesn’t deserve this.

After enjoying last years Goodbye & Good Riddance I had high hopes for Juice WRLD's future but if this is the path he's going to take I believe he'll paint himself into a corner of complete irrelevancy pretty quickly. He's really bringing nothing new. Last year he burst onto the scene with iconic vocals perfect for his catchy brand of melodic emo rap. His debut album was a little repetitive and maybe even one-dimensional but I thought it worked due to how fresh, energetic and youthful the ... read more

A album that had great potential.

I relistened to this album on accident & was pleasantly surprised. Juice knew how to make bangers & overall catchy ass songs. Even though I like this project a lot, it obviously has a lot of problems. The biggest one is it’s length. I honestly believe if this album was just like the first 12 or 14 songs then we’d have a truely great album on our hands, but after this part of the album it becomes filled with filler aside from some gems like ... read more

In the wake of Juice WRLD’s untimely passing, I decided to revisit this album because I rated it poorly without reviewing it. Well it’s better than what I remember but it’s still mediocre at best.
The problem with Juice WRLD is, like Uzi and Yachty, he has some really good songs and some really bad songs. He’s an alright singer, an even better rapper, and the production is almost always on point. But many of the songs on this thing are repetitive as hell, and he ... read more

If this album was the 10 best songs, this would be an 8/10. I love the first half of the album. The first half has great production with catchy hooks and melodies. He also has some cool aggressive rap songs in the first half too. But the second half makes the album incredibly drawn out and bloated. The production is still decent but not as good, and the catchiness and memorability basically disappears. I also wish there were more features. Overall, the album is still decent, but I just wish ... read more

I've never really expressed my opinions on a lot of young rappers who have passed away. People have their reasons for disliking rappers like XXXTENTACION or Lil Peep, but even if you're not a fan of Juice WRLD's music, the recent news of his death is devastating. His potential was only just being realised, and it's eerie going back and listening to his music with the knowledge that he's no longer with us. Juice WRLD was by no means a controversial figure in the industry, and it just emphasises ... read more

Juice WRLD's latest record 'Death Race For Love' is the perfect example of the thinking that quantity>quality. After a promising array of singles released in the lead up to the album, I was rather excited to hear what Juice WRLD had to offer on this project, however with 22 tracks, I must say this was a rather painful album to get through.

The best way I could describe this album, is that it is something you would put on as background noise. The tracks after a while all seem to just blend ... read more

With some catchy melodies that reminisces to the days of Blink-182 and Pierce the Veil, Juice WRLDs sophomore effort unfortunately drags out too long with some melodramatic lyrics that feels insincere.

I can see the appeal to this album, but fuck this was dreadfully long, there is no chance I could let this album play through in one go, this album just dragged on forever, very repetitive, no vision or storyline, definitely will never be returning to this project again.

There is no reason this should be 22 songs long. Juice Wrld is pretty hit or miss to me. There are 3 good songs out of 22. Maybe if he cut this album in half and got rid of The Bees Knees this would be a decent album. The worst songs are when he's either really boring or shitting out adlibs layered on top of each other between every other word.

Yeah, I'm not coming back to this.

-10 for me literally not being able to finish this. This album is a disaster. The songs range from the worst thing ever to decent with sprinkles of good songs. i feel like 90% of this album is filler. Just terrible

Empty: 43/100 (Bad)
Average. It's just very average. Average +1 minute, and a terrible chorus.

Maze: 70/100 (Good)
Catchy chorus, way shorter than empty (thank god), and just done better.

This album is another album that suffers from the "start strong, end weak" curse. The first few tracks like "Empty" and "Fast" are great songs and showcase what the listener wants to hear from a Juice WRLD album, but the album then devolves into filler and just plain bad tracks like "Syphilis" which is unbearable to listen to.

BEST TRACKS: Empty, Fast, 10 Feet
WORST TRACKS: Big, Syphilis, Out My Way

The album does feel a little rushed, but for me it really delivers a lot of bangers , great melodies and flows. From singing he goes into scream rapping in "Syphilis" ans then to rapping in "Out my Way","10 Feet" which shows his versatility and assures a spot as one of the best upcoming stars.
