There's something ice cold about Tanya Tagaq's singing on this EP. Her grunts and moans sound like the shivering of someone suffering from hypothermia. Then when her voice soars into higher pitches it is full of awe and wonder as if she is staring up at the Northern Lights and reminding herself that there is still hope, still beauty, even in the bitterest of cold.
