RYM is more based than us apparently. WLR is at 3.15/5 which is a 63 here. We can’t let them be more based than us. We must be more based. EVERYONE, RAISE YOUR SCORES!
AOTY is the only place where you see people saying “Screw Fantano, why do we even bother listening to him anyway” and those same people getting excited or unhappy because he gave an album a score that may or may not be similar to their own.
The biggest issue I have with this album is that it's a bit bloated, but this is still one of the few rap albums I've come across that I think makes good use of its ridiculous amount of tracks. What happened with this album is exactly what happens with every album that successfully tries something new and may have ultimately helped push the medium forward even just a little; everyone hated it for not sticking to conventions, and those who are open-minded to changes grew to appreciate it over time. This is definitely a record that'll be more commonly liked over time.
honestly kanye's performance on go2damoon worries me.. i hope he releases something good in the future, i hope that performances like this aren't the new norm for him
So this album sadly is now on baldman and critics hands. If they appreciate and understand what Carti did here, probably ppl will give it a second chance and the score will be around 70 and if they don’t, well... it won’t change a lot. Anyway whoever thinks some of the top-notch producers right now will made a “trash” album without even notice it, they are wrong as hell. Like, it’s obvious that they understand this world better than us and this isn’t a mainstream release at all. Love it or not this record is at least respectable and different from everything related to hip-hop this year and I guess that was the idea after all.
In my opinion, album and new direction very underestimated, as you listen to it it gets better, it makes me think even if all proportions keep to the 70 s when punk arrived, of course it is not comparable, of course there are defaults, but it remains to be seen the impact that this album will have on the future and I will put a winning bet in this direction
Listening to WLR in 2020 is like listening to throbbing gristle’s 20 jazz-funk greats in 1979
Yeah, they are both surreal and eye-opening yet conflicting simultaneously, with the exception of TG being more experimental and more underground, but there are still fun takes on synthpop and electro-disco on 20 Jazz funk greats
Saw a comment and I think it sums this up nicely:
"great textured beats, wild and often emotionally charged vocal performances, nice track to track flow that makes the hour long runtime feel like thirty minutes, makes great use of abridged song structure, has clear focus on being a body of work, and it has a distinct artistic vision. it has all the makings of a good album, and i'm surprised more people aren't picking up on how this sort of improves on die lit in almost every way, structurally and aesthetically. take it in as an experience, folks. the good stuff is here, waiting to be appreciated"
when it's not die lit 2 so people start freaking tf out. no one is having an open mind with this, because they are expecting something that carti scrapped. it'd be like hearing MBDTF teased for a year and then getting yeezus instead- everyone would hate on it exactly how they are now. this will grow on people in time, you gotta let artists grow and do their own thing regardless of how fans want them to progress.
I mean, I don’t like this album, which I rarely dislike albums, but holy SHIT the beat on on that time is amazing. The vocals may not be that great but oh my GOD the beat on that song
@vicfxb nigga did you literally listen to stop breathing?😂😂😭😭 if you honestly think the beats can save his awful vocals u wrong bro. The leaks from a year ago were actually good cuz he flowed on the beats but idk wtf he was doing this time lmao.
U all said the same last time, this shit is amazingly produced and Carti has an incredible personality. Can’t top Die Lit like Cudi can’t top MOTM1, and still better than 90% of hip hop music released this year.
Carti is an example of another overrated artist. The user score is a lot higher than his critic score. I feel like people are being a lot more fair with their reviews this time which I'm happy to see!
More than halfway into this and actually been enjoying it tbh. Carti's vocal performance's can be pretty ruff sometimes but the beats on here are great.
if @MEH and / or Pissy Pamper are on this album i'm gonna be ok. I really like carti, not gonna pretend to be his biggest fan or anything, but i'm genuinely excited for this album
If this album is shit I don't even think I'll care. This year has been so shit I'm just numb to dissapointment and I've lived without it so far. Hope it's good tho 🧛♂️
Oh my gosh guys I think it's coming, out 😭 I'm actually crying right now irl in real life. I think this is going, to change the music industry. I really do feel it, perfect score vibes are heavy I'm just so ready for a new wave of artists, this melodic stuff getting old, time to switch it up 💯 Kid Cudi, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Kanye Omari West, legendary figures in the scene and with their forces combined this is gonna be HUGE. I know it seems to good to be true but Carti has a big gift planned this Christmas and it's never before seen and I'm so excited but a bit nervous for everything to come
If you have Apple Music you can change the cover art of albums to whatever you like. The same is probably true for Spotify too. Either way, this I'm def changing this cover back to all red.
This cover art is bad. He shouldve just went with the all red if he was gonna use this. Anyway this album finna be a banger its literally produced by kanye.

After all that we'd been through, it felt like we were finally past the horrors of 2020 and that we would at least be able to spend Christmas hapily and without disaster. Then, the time traveller who helped make this year an absolute dumpster fire decided that their final act would be convincing Playboi Carti to ruin all of our Christmas plans by dropping Whole Lotta Red, Which I assume is a reference to what we'll be seeing while listening to this album due to the blood coming out of our ears.
man fuck music shit just breaks my heart so much goddam this bitch putting stress on top of our already stressful lives fuck u carti i hope u get run over and break an arm, i hope the car was driven by a fan, i hope you drop the fucking album, and i hope your recovery goes smoothly
Fiona Apple fans: waits patiently for nearly a decade for a new album

Carti fans are incredibly toxic and they just need to stop hounding artists. Even if it won't drop this year, I personally think every wait for an album is worth it. Dude literally has a newborn.
If another song from this gets leaked, esp one with Uzi, I’ll listen to Lil Xan’s whole discography. Please, if anything else leaks, tell me. Somehow, i made a promise
On July 4, 2007, Chestnut won the 92nd Annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, beating six-time defending champion Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi by consuming 66 hot dogs and buns (HDB) in 12 minutes, which improved the world record. The following year, he successfully defended his title by winning a 5 hot dog eat-off after tying Kobayashi in consuming 59 HDB in 10 minutes. On July 4, 2009, Chestnut beat Kobayashi again, by consuming a world record 68 HDB and winning his third consecutive title. On July 4, 2010, Chestnut took home his 4th consecutive Mustard Belt eating 54 HDB. The 2010 contest was a runaway victory, as Kobayashi did not compete due to a contract dispute with Major League Eating.
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (also known as The Misadventures of Flapjack; or simply just Flapjack) is an American animated television series created by Thurop Van Orman for Cartoon Network that premiered in the United States on June 5, 2008. It stars Van Orman as the voice of Flapjack, a naïve young boy who was raised by a whale named Bubbie and is mentored by a crusty old pirate named Captain K'nuckles. Together the trio spend their days in Stormalong Harbor, where most of the show takes place, whilst on the search for the elusive Candied Island
BDSM is a variety of often erotic practices or roleplaying involving bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, sadomasochism, and other related interpersonal dynamics. Given the wide range of practices, some of which may be engaged in by people who do not consider themselves as practising BDSM, inclusion in the BDSM community or subculture is usually dependent upon self-identification and shared experience.
Happy that AOTY removed likes for unreleased albums yet sad that my second most liked review no longer has those likes lmao. Thanks for the change tho guys <3
