I have given up on expressing my frustration for this current progression of rap music we are in the middle (or near end) of, instead of dismissing it for being one dimensional and unimportant i try as best as possible to take what is good and leave the bad. Of course not all trap music is bad, there are some visionary artists who have breathed life into the style such as playboi carti with his original vocal performances and colorful beats, Travis Scott and his signature psychedelic trap ... read more

A bumpy, but fun ride. Eternal Atake is a very good album. But after almost 3 years of hype it doesn't really live up to expectations, we were expecting a trap odyssey with more trance-like production but we got a very solid by the numbers Uzi album. And I'm fine with that.

Lil Uzi Vert answers Playboi Carti by delivering his own Die Lit after a long wait

Trust me, I had no interest in this album from the singles, but almost every song on here shows the pure power of not overthinking, and going with your musical instinct. As a result, Uzi keeps songs engaging by sometimes just geeking out, and repeating a single phrase, or he has a ridiculous line that stands out.

This is also the first Uzi project where the common theme is strongly stood by. The space theme is ... read more

I. DON'T. SEE. THE. HYPE. Like seriously, is that what we waited 4 years for? Like bruhhhh this shit is average af, it's not all bad but tracks like POP, you better move, Secure the bag are so fucking ass with weird deliveries and mediocre beats. It has some bops here and there but for the most part it's soo mid. Not a big fan, still prefer 2015 luv
However, it's still too early to judge the album completely, but I'm so disappointed and prolly won't be listening this a lot
And for y'all uzi ... read more

Underwhelming. Took this man way too long to produce this album and for half the songs just sat there repeating himself. 100 for it finally dropping, but damn uzi, step it up...

Oh shit, it actually dropped. Icky-icky, hickey-hickey
I deadass thought this was gonna be a generic rap album, and it kinda was. But I just kinda vibed through this whole album, and I still enjoyed it lmao.
The album kinda got a bit muddled as it kept going cause while I thought Baby Pluto was a pretty nice opening track, the record kinda got a little dragged out as it kept playing, especially the second leg of the tracklist.
The album art is really amazing on a designer's aesthetics, ... read more

Ladies and gentlemen, be careful! Unidentified Soundcloud Rapper Lil Uzi Vert is heading straight to Earth to impose his cosmic bars by invading your speakers and headphones. Look, this fireball coming towards us, no doubt, it's him!

Holy crap! Uzi is coming from the planet Atake with his biggest spaceship. His irritating voice rises to high pitched tones without permission to land and his flow is so out of sync, he's completely out of time and space. Uzi ... read more

Besides the obvious Lil Uzi influences, very good debut album from this Baby Pluto guy

So on my first listen I'm just gonna go ahead and say this is by far Uzi's best project and it's one of the funnest albums I've listened to in a long time.

The whole atmosphere of this album is otherworldly and futuristic in terms of production, I like the consistency of it and it still has the same Lil Uzi feel from projects like Luv Is Rage 2 and Lil Uzi Vert vs the World. Although not being a fully consistent album with three songs I don't care for it's a solid tracklist. Uzi handles ... read more

Symere Woods goes trap-grimescore.

Baby Pluto lands on planet Earth early to purify our souls when we least expected it, but did he deliver good music in the process?

Whoever has read my recent Luv is Rage 2 review, knows how high my expectations are for Eternal Atake. I never liked an Uzi album, but LIR2 has grown on me quite a bit, and every single teaser Uzi dropped since New Patek has been a big success to me. However, none of these tracks are on Eternal Atake, as Futsal Shuffle and That ... read more

Uzi’s new LP is a polarizing listen. It’s a interesting statement in 2020, a intergalactic post-trap hour long journey. While the lyrical content is pretty limited, the quirky & industrial production really does make up for it. EA has an urgent feel as Uzi tries to make up for lost time. His flows are good as ever.

The wait is finally over.

Anyways, the album maybe a little boated at times, but after a while this album became really fun. I love the very fun and sci-fi inspired production, and Lil Uzi Vert really improved his flow/rapping on this project. The lyrics aren’t really that amazing, but c’mon, it’s a trap rap album, are you really expecting something like Nas or Aesop Rock, I don’t think so. While I really do like this album, I gotta admit it, I’m slightly ... read more

"Eternal Atake" is a flawed and inconsistent but fun trap rap record with some cool bangers. Like I said, it's pretty messy. There are a few questionable lines ("I can make a gay girl turn to a straight"), there are a few average duds, some trap cliches are present and the album can feel kind of bloated. Otherwise, I like the sci-fi concept, some of the production is really good and most of the tracklist ranges from good to great. If you're looking for something that lives ... read more

Eternal Atake is finally upon us!

As is common with projects that are put on delay like this (TLOP, ASTROWORLD, etc) there is a lot of hype that develops for the project, much of which is rooted within the frustrations with the delayed released and that artist either already having classics under their belt or showing a lot of potential or promise. I did not want to let myself succumb to this hype and actually just take the music in at face value.

Uzi has been one of the more promising ... read more

For me, Eternel Atake was really worth waiting for, because it's a successful album with a funny theme, which can only do good to the Hip Hop genre. It's also a double blow for Lil Uzi Vert who, in addition to making a flamboyant comeback, is back in the lead.

I don't think there's any point in reintroducing Lil Uzi Vert again, or even talking about the context and expectations around this new album, unless you live in a cave, in which case I can't do anything for you. On the other hand I ... read more

GREAT

In my opinion, the primary trifecta of quality trap consists of:

1.) GOOD PRODUCTION
2.) GOOD FLOWS
3.) CONSISTENCY

The secondary trifecta of quality trap consists of:

1.) CHARISMA
2.) UNIQUENESS
3.) EXPERIMENTATION

And the third, final trifecta of quality trap consists of:

1.) VARIETY
2.) ATMOSPHERE
3.) QUALITY RELATIVE TO COMPETITION

Guess which categories Eternal Atake succeeds in? Every single one of them.

Let me explain. Okay, so personally, I don't ask for much when it comes ... read more

Lil Uzi Vert delivers a pretty solid body of work however lacks the strength of certain singles in his previous projects. Eternal Atake, the album everyone was waiting for forever has finally dropped. Will it live up to the months and even years of hype? Maybe, but will it be a good album, that's the real question. Just straight off the bat, Uzi starts with Baby Pluto and delivers a fun opening. This theme of fun is what radiates throughout the rest of the project but also a feeling of concern ... read more

Y'all tripping. This average AT BEST. Beats are super super super super super cliché. DUDE HAS NO FLOW. Get off the hype train, wake up. I honestly was expecting some originality here, but nope! Braggadocio with a side of "I LOVE ME SOME PUSSY, YOU GUYS!" Cool album art. And seriously? You guys (you know who you are) call out a bunch of artists for being "toxic" but this isn't? GIve me a break. Some of you need a break from music to reassess your taste and so ... read more
