Pretty much a downright Earth album. Everything you would and should expect from these guys. It's cool and well executed, but not surprising in any way, basically the same stuff during the whole album. Reminds me a lot of "Hex".

Got three quarters of the way through the first song and had to stop. It just wasn't going anywhere for me. It reminded me of Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs without any vocals or guitar soloing.

After being disappointed by quite a few stoner rock/metal albums this year, I decided to visit this Earth project. I should also mention that I do not care for Earth's debut; Earth 2: Special Low Frequency Version, and I don't get the critical acclaim. It turns out that this wasn't for me either. I guess with the debut album, at least the drone metal sound was sort of a new thing, but Full Upon Her Flaming Lips was just a very average stoner rock release, with nothing new or interesting to ... read more
