If Barbieri's last album was defined by subtle shifts meant to tranquilise and hypnotise, Ecstatic Computation is marked by sudden breaks from predictability. Stylistic influences and sonic textures are varied, yet they're cohesive. The result is an album that's both provocative and blissful.

Sweeping electronic release with masterful use of complex synth arrangements and polyrhythmic undercurrents pulsating into the ears. Exciting stuff that needs to be heard.
"Progressive electronic" got me excited but this really isn't all that interesting unfortunately.
Caterina Barbieri is a Berlin based italian electronic musician who creates sound sculptures and ambient by a bold use of sytnhs.
