Staples' voice takes on a martial cadence as she announces her belief in what's ahead. But as the album as a whole suggests, she's not ready to go yet. She still needs to help change the world, fall in love, and live a full life for as long as she is able. Amen, sister.

Because Staples has lost little expressiveness with age, We Get By sounds surprisingly raucous and admirably rough around the edges, especially on the percolating “Anytime.” But these songs are more about the small, quiet spaces where Staples can catch her breath and steel her nerves.

uma vibe muito boa, álbum extremamente nostálgico com vibes dos anos 80's/90's .. sem duvida um projeto lindo, com um visual que combina com as musicas em si do album
Incredibly vocals as usual. The album mixing was on point but something that really affected the entire album was the repetitive lyrics over and over, the song could have been shorter but instead it feel like they just tried to fill the 3 minute gap.
