Spectrum Culture

The band invites the listener ... into a conversation between this album and Life Metal ... The two releases – their interconnections and divergences in both sound and space – combine to make up one of the most consequential metal releases of the decade.

The Needle Drop

Pyroclasts' improvisational concept yields Sunn O)))'s most stimulating set of drones all decade.

Under The Radar

Pyroclasts sounds like a new light breaking forth from below.

The Sydney Morning Herald

For some, the relentlessness of it all might be a bit too dismal or morbid, yet something life-affirming and even blissful lurks only slightly beneath the surface.

Crack Magazine
A unique and triumphant work that favours harmonic richness over abyssal riffing.

Is it their BWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM-iest yet?

I really do but this just feels very uninspired and just blends it with one another

*insert my Life Metal review*

"Pyroclasts" is like "Life Metal" without anything that made that album slightly interesting. I really don't have much to say beyond that.

Sunn I))) makes another one, and it’s probably just as good as Life Metal. Pyroclasts shows a shorter, more direct approach to what Life Metal provided.

Since the album is short, I’ll keep my review short. Pyroclasts contains 4 ten minute soundscapes that vibrate the disturbed soul. You can really feel the thickness of the songs throughout your body when you listen to this album.

It’s good. I can’t get enough of this release.
