Drowned in Sound

With So It Goes, Wiki’s enabled his bandmates to rise to his level, and the confidence they ooze on this tour de force is staggering.

Spin

Ratking embodies an organic nostalgia: one that feels less studious (*cough* Joey Bada$$) or trendy (*emoji eyes* A$AP), than a product of listening to a whole lot of shit growing up.

AllMusic

So It Goes is as pure as they come, so strap in and get ready from some rich rewards and hard truths because this one returns hip-hop to a time when it was "dangerous," and in the best, most progressive way possible.

80
Exclaim!

Over a kaleidoscope of soundscapes equally indebted to electronic, indie rock and the traditional rap blueprint, Wiki and Hak spit hasty bars telling the story of young men entrenched in the streets of New York City in the here and now.

The 405

So It Goes leaves a refreshing aftertaste on the musical palette and feeds the masses a full course of east coast education.

70
NME

Ratking’s debut simultaneously sits within the lineage of NYC music, and strives to break out of it.

60
DIY

The focus occasionally drifts, and it’s hard to interpret everything that’s said, even if it’s always easy to appreciate. Taken as a whole it’s hard to digest.

I remember a time when this album was mentioned almost every day as one of the best in this year. Man that was a simpler, better time.

An out of the comfort zone effort, with lot of experimentations and sometimes interesting unnusual sonorities, but overall unfocused record, that falls victim of the absurd amount of information going on in almost every song. Although there are some good moments in the album (like on So Sick Stories and So it Goes), the listener ends up with a feeling that Ratking may need to step up a little.
