A much more well rounded record than Crooked Rain. The songwriting from Malkmus is as sharp as ever with iconic songs like 'Grounded' and 'At&T'.

Rolling Stone has really never had a clue, man. The most eccentric, and all-over-the-place record in the Pavement catalog. Sounds like they just needed to blow a creative load one short year after making the decade's definitive record of the genre.

Nearly all of Pavement’s records are really diverse and Wowee Zowee is no different. The only real difference here is that the diversity doesn’t hold up as cohesively as their previous record. Of course there are some amazing tracks on this album but a few of them feel like a step in the wrong direction.
