Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Mattiel Brown's newest release finds her footing on the punky garage rock aesthetic she instills with a vintage, doo-wop vibe reminiscent of The B-52's or Holly Golightly. Assuredly confident and charismatic debut with a rockabilly edge.
I loved the middle of this record, but the beginning and ending didn't really connect with me. I could picture a lot of these tracks being in movie soundtracks.
