Although I greatly enjoyed Carnavas at one point, Silversun Pickups have unfortunately never really captured my attention in the same way as they did on their debut record. Their sound feels at this point generic and uninspired, and this album unfortunately suffers from that feeling throughout. One of the most consistent bands deliver another solid album. They have a formula and it works. Which appeals to genuine fans of their sound. As a pose to people who simply write off an album because it's not their "cool" debut and don't judge it objectively on it's own merits. Their intense sound and interesting instrumentation together with catchy hooks make this a very enjoyable listen.
*it's funny that the worst albums' closing track sums up how trash the album is.

This album is generic. The performances were underwhelming. The songwriting is meh, despite the circumstances of the themes. It's boring, lifeless music.
