It isn’t one of Lynch’s most memorable movies, but This Train is a pleasing introduction to Chrysta Bell, proof that the Lynchian technique is a moving one, but also further evidence that his vision is best shared when we can see it too.

This is much easier to listen to than something like Crazy Clown Time, released the same year by Lynch. With Chrystabell, we're treated to something jazzier and more low-key. A lot of it sounds like what you'd hear on the soundtracks for his 90s work. The non Angelo Badalamenti synth stuff, at least.
Swing With Me has an almost Beth Gibbons/Portishead feel to it while Friday Night Fly has some atmospheric guitars that sound like they would have fit perfectly on Wild at ... read more
