Scratch or Stitch sits among subsequent Melt-Banana releases with an air of superiority. Although influences and comparisons are not difficult to find, it's a mistake to bundle this album into any anonymous hardcore classification.
Japanese noise core produced by Steve Albini. One of the best live bands I ever experienced. Songs usually last around one minute and they approach music like almost no other band sending you into a weird maelstrom from the second the song starts driven by one of the best drummers I know of Sudoh Toshiaki. He left the band after this record. So here is Melt Banana in a period when they were at their peak.
