Rife with bright hooks and dreamy guitars, Dayglow’s Fuzzybrain doesn’t take itself too seriously, which serves only to benefit its listening experience. It knows exactly what it is; a fun, uncomplicated indie/dream pop album. Though it doesn’t make efforts differentiate itself from the indie scene, the stellar vocal performances and infectious instrumentals are too sunny to not crack a smile at. I really enjoyed this one.

bedroom pop.....
Part of me wants to call this album out on being so basic, but I know I would've been obsessed with this when it came out. It truly is the blueprint for bedroom pop and that weird art hoe phase everyone went through in 2018 and 2019. It's not the most engaging piece of music ever created, but its influence has been so noticeable since its release.
musically, it’s nothing new: dreamy synths atop indie rock instrumentation, sticky melodies, upbeat vibes—late 2010s indie pop/bedroom pop in a nutshell. but it’s really his attitude and perspective that counts. it’s upbeat pick-me-up music, but it knows that life isn’t always great and sometimes things might not happen the same way you wanted it to happen. dayglow allows his charm to communicate that, maybe, it might get better.
A pretty solid debut album. False Direction, Can I Call You Tonight? , Hot Rod, Fair Game, Fuzzybrain and Listerine are absolute freaking BANGERS.
