The next album I'm covering in my dive through King Crimsons discography is the bands 4th album, Islands. This is by far the most underrated King Crimson album I've heard yet.

Islands is the most different record I've heard from Crimson yet. This is their most quiet, calming and oddly hypnotic album I've heard from them, yet there are some elements of jazz in here. Songs like Ladies Of The Road show us a more jazzy side to the band, while Prelude is a very quiet and mesmerizing track. And don't even get me started on the closer. That song was phenomenal. "Islands" is a record that made King Crimson realize that in order to keep people invested, they need to bring in something fresh, and they did just that by ditching most of their guitar sound. The jazz/classical elements are gorgeous and very well arranged and it holds some of the best writing from Peter Sinfield yet. And that closer is just breathtaking to behold and it's truly one of their greatest songs.

The most underrated King Crimson album
This should be the essential King Crimson record. ITCOTCK is cool, but this is it. The title track's just an enthralling and beautiful bookend to one of the best Prog albums.
