Edit: originally a 99. this track is still great, my 2019 ass is just exagerrating.
also Ms. Piggy made the song better lol
Vocals? On point, emotional, amazing.
Piano? Mellow, perfect.
Electronics? Jaw-dropping (especially at 1:40, wtf was that).
Imagery? Extremely vivid,
My eyes? Ready to cry.
Hotel? Trivago.
As someone who has been listening to FKA Twigs a ton recently, this along with the video came as a huge surprise. I will start off by saying the lyrics are amazing. The vocal performance is so fragile, and even though it is stripped back, it still has iconic FKA Twigs experimental elements.
Personally, this song is overhyped. This sounds like something I would completely pan if it was not FKA Twigs. However because it is so vulnerable and powerful, I have a lot of faith in this growing on me ... read more
Vulnerable, captivating & emotional.
This track shook me to the core when I relistened to it again last week.
It was my (late) introduction to FKA twigs, but now I'm a fan of her work, especially Caprisongs.
Gonna dive into her earlier discography in the new year.
Imagine you hear this song in the middle of the night and her voice "But I..."
This song is one of the most BEAUTIFUL things in this world.
There are certain songs that can speak so much louder than the lyrics they sing. Songs that break the boundary of just using words to convey emotion, to convey the feeling of sadness, happiness, pure raw emotion. There are certain songs that don’t really need words at all to convey their feelings, their emotion.

Wait do some people really only know this song because of the funny dog 😭😭😭
"Oh it's from the long nose dog meme, it won't be that crazy " they said
"It shouldn't be anything special" they said
THE SONG WON'T MAKE YOU CHOKE ON YOUR OWN TEARS AT 2 AM THEY SAID-
I think this is one of the best songs I've ever heard, here's why:
*Simple, but powerful lyrics sung brilliantly, with naked emotion.
I think the lyrical theme is about unreachable expectations that can be had in failing relationships, but I'm open to other interpretations!
*Hard-hitting piano keys, sometimes paired with what I can only guess is an electronic keyboard?!
*Depressingly catchy. The tune and lyrics overall are not really something you want stuck in your head all day!

"Why won't you do it for me when all I do is for you?" is probably the most fucking painful line in a song lyrics
I love twigs' music, and I love all of her releases so far.
I gotta be honest though. This is bottom-tier Magdalene imo. Not even one of her best songs. The vocals are amazing, and convey so much emotion, but it isn't sonically interesting otherwise.
Btw guess what? this is my opinion.
Wow. 'cellophane' might just have the most emotional, touching vocal performance I've ever heard, you can hear so much of her breathing and I always picture the image of her so close to bursting into tears as she sings.
Definitely one of my new favorite singers.
