Prince is, for me, one of the best singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of all time. The legend has not yet said its last word. In 2018, a set of demos recorded on the piano was released. In 2019, this is "Originals". A posthumous project that is definitely worth the detour, much more enjoyable and interesting musically. The songs have just been remastered, nothing has been added. A pretty cool compilation which really highlights how talented Prince was as a writer.

Finally, a collection of unreleased demos that Prince donated to other artists, demos that flourished without any trace of the originals, till now.

Such a fun project. I went into this just on a whim and left thoroughly enjoying the entire album. Yeah I dont really see why this has so much praise. Dont get me wrong there are really good songs like sex shooter, jungle love, and 100 mph. I just feel like the mixing is just dog shit and some of the songs are not even prince's best work. It makes me think are they giving him praise because hes gone or is it because of the music.
