Except for a few really stupid lyrics, this EP is a watertight collection of good songs that you don't need to pay much attention to. Sometimes, that's all you need.

The first OVO Sound signee drops off a nice EP that's a bit reminiscent of The Weeknd's raunchy lyrics but some different sounding production. His vocals here are nice and don't underwhelm. There is some autocrooning but he sounds decent doing it. Lyrically, it isn't strong but there are some good showings of emotion and, of course, horniness. No total duds, but some tracks are clearly weaker than others.

PartyNextDoor's EP/Mixtape feels very shallow. The tracks feel incomplete or redundant, almost like they are more representative of a demo tape than an album. This self-titled project hides too deep into its own comfort zone, preventing the artist to express his artistic character. Rather than "the real deal", PartyNextDoor gives listeners a preview of what could be delivered in the future.
