Often, I've noticed a tendency in popular music criticism communities online that places older scene movements and progressions in high regard despite rarely acknowledging the context in which those works were made. The adverse effects of this sort of fanaticism are twofold:

- A nostalgic weaponization of these works as higher value than more recent musings
- A reckless disregard for the cheapening of these sounds by so-called "revivalists"

Definitely admire the ambition and energy of this record but nothing catches the ear immediately, easily settling in as excessively long and a bit nondescript. I hope this grows on me though.

Well this is different, they went from repetitive songs with every couple having a cool rift or two, to a distinguishable great instrumental band, but ill say this, although the instrumentals have improved and they've managed to improve sound I think the vocals need some work, not to say rarely he hits it well (cosmic thrill seeking forever), but this is the same problem Frank Iero has, especially on Leathermouth and Deathspells, not so much his violence, patience, and celebration projects ... read more
