On Chamberlain Waits, The Menzingers start to shape their sound much more clearly than their debut record and seem to be finding a footing. Their sound is cleaned up by a few steps and sounds more like the sound that would follow them forward. The Menzingers here blend elements of punk rock and pop with a little bit of heartland rock, giving their punk rock a new and energetic twist that feels only remotely rootsy.
