Fever isn’t much of a departure sonically and lyrically from Megan’s previous mixtape Tina Snow ... But this time her flow and delivery are sharper. She sounds more expensive.

Tiny Mix Tapes

Megan Thee Stallion has thrown down the gauntlet with Fever, serving as an introduction to a new breed of down-South conqueror: a confident woman built for Instagram fame but steadfastly disciplined and technically excellent.

She's crafted a raunchy, fun-filled soundtrack for (a Houston) summer.

Megan Thee Stallion’s debut is steeped in sex, pimpin, and power; it sounds like a once and future Houston rap classic.

Megan Thee Stallion is a rapper that combines a lot of influences, mainly from three 6, with an aggressive style and a in your face, sexually endearing personality. Just like Nicki, sex is a prevalent topic in here, except Megan actually makes it sound so good and catchy with some slick and hilarious songwriting along with on-point flows that ... read more
haha yes haha
The cover art of Megan Thee Stallion's debut album is inspired by cinematographic productions of blaxploitation and Pam Grier's hyper-sexualisation. Megan's uninhibited sexuality is central on this album. Megan Thee Stallion is a worthy heir of the women's rap tradition begun by MC Lyte and Queen Latifah, and the southern hip-hop dynasty inaugurated by the Geto Boys and Underground Kings. Megan asserts herself as "Thee Stallion" and defeats the historically male-centered framework in ... read more
