"Fear" is a transitional album in King Dude's discography: not as raw and bizarre as "Burning Daylight", yet not as bold and varied as "Sex" or "Music to Make War To". Cowgill goes for a more polished and orchestral sound a la Nick Cave, but only a few songs are really convincing here.
