Hooray! A cover's album!!! Surely he'll put a cool twist on some of these songs. Nope. Add to that, A Letter Home sounds like shit, though that's understandable because these are likely demos. You can tell barely anything was done to enhance how this album sounds, and it shows. The very first track is good! The godfather of hipsters records in a phonograph booth at Jack White's place. A humble and quaint concept but doesn't do much for Neil's song catalogue. The mid range makes the vocals and guitar sound tinny; we have to see this gimmick as a direct link to his high quality audio format, PONO music.
