Like her 2013 debut, Shatter Me is essentially a showcase for Stirling's instrumental prowess, and she delivers the heat with all of the fire, fury, and mad, pixie-ish sweetness that drew millions of people to her Lindseystomp YouTube channel.
cool collection of classical-electronic tracks. Perhaps more than the previous record there is more here that lets Stirling show off her violin prowess, and I appreciate that at the forefront more than the electronica. I think her stuff works a bit better as YouTube videos because lots of songs are made interesting when paired with her visual performance, but the music on its own still is largely attention-holding.
particular favs: Beyond the Veil, Shatter Me, Take Flight, Master of Tides
I'm not gonna lie, I kinda like this album, but the title track itself absolutely slaps so hard! Heck as a violinist myself, I once performed Shatter Me at a talent show during a Summer camp.
