The Needle Drop

Flamboyant is a distillment of what has made bubblegum bass so interesting over the past few years, as well as an apt commentary on gender politics.

In recent years the bubblegum bass, PC Music's electropop is expanding with artists like Charli XCX, SOPHIE, Poppy, Hannah Diamond or 100 gecs. "Flamboyant" shows just how versatile of a "pop" artist Dorian Electra is. The bubblegum bass production is fantastic, the tracks here are over-the-top and catchy and their progressive lyrics are pretty damn great. Overall, I think they make an interesting addition to the PC Music scene.

While the personality of Flamboyant is where it derides a great deal of its entertainment ... read more
