Thematically similar to other releases he's had, El Capo couldn't be less innovative bar-wise — but it's actually this sticking-to-the-basics in order to deliver a strong, comfortable collection of tracks that makes it such a welcome release.

One thing I'll say about Jim Jones is he's very consistent. He's nobody's favouite rapper but I don't think he has any haters either.

He honestly did come through with one of his career best records. His content is even better than Wasted Talent, which was an impressive return to form. The problem here is Heatmakerz's beats are mid and the hooks are sometimes pretty lame.
Do you know how new albums you really get into when they are released quickly can lose their attraction and turn out to be forgettable and not at all as good as you thought after those first few spins?
