Produced by Phil Elverum (yes that Phil Elverum), early Mirah (especially this album) at times sounds a lot like The Microphones with a female lead-singer. Distant marching band percussion, washes of static, that acoustic strum sound Phil gets. There is some stuff here that might not work with Phil, and despite not having the most amazing voice Mirah still carries these songs well.
