Great

“Permanent Waves” could possibly be the last hurrah for the non-synth (non-80s sounding) era of Rush. From here on, the band embraces the sounds of the eras in which the albums are released, instead of creating their own on records before.

Color: Yellow
FAV TRACKS: The Spirit of the Radio, Freewill, Entre Nous, Jacob’s Ladder, Different Strings
LEAST FAV: Natural Science

I don't get this band and I doubt I ever will.

Just so goddamn wet - those vocals are the epitome of nerdo naff.

The music is...it's Rush, there are no great songs, some decent MUSICIANSHIP sure, but nothing to stick a flag in and claim as a bleedin SONG.

Ugh. Rush. Ugh.

In a lot of ways, the experimentation that was in the the last three Rush records still thrives here. But it's not experimental in the sense that it's firing off on all cylinders. No, this is Rush experimentation with how to limit themselves and create one of the greatest rock records ever made. And by god they found a way. Absolutely one of my favorite Rush records.

Favorite Jams: Jacobs Ladder, The Spirit Of Radio, Entre Nous

Lest Favorite: Different Strings
