While their most powerful and relative instrumental passages are long gone, the canadian trio go for an arena-ambience power-pop sonority in this record, with some big orchestration and a more radio friendly songwriting style, that had already been developed in smaller scales on their previous albums, like Permanent Waves or Moving Pictures, but on Power Windows, the attention to their contemporaries at the time had some influence in the songwriting here, generating some forgettable, ... read more
Not reaching the heights of Grace Under Pressure, however that doesn't make the record that bad. It's one of the more accessible synth records Rush has put out, if not one of the lest interesting of the bands discography.
