“Power Windows” makes me want to smash all of mine because of how much potential it had.

While their most powerful and relative instrumental passages are long gone, the canadian trio go for an arena-ambience power-pop sonority in this record, with some big orchestration and a more radio friendly songwriting style, that had already been developed in smaller scales on their previous albums, like Permanent Waves or Moving Pictures, but on Power Windows, the attention to their contemporaries at the time had some influence in the songwriting here, generating some forgettable, ... read more

Rush dives into full-on pop-rock on Power Windows, making some of their catchiest tunes that don’t reach their full potential.

The songs are fun, although some certainly drag on a bit too long. Even with the length of some of the songs, they still don’t have much staying power.
