“Vapor Trails” capitalizes on the harsher sound found on the previous record to create a solid release to level off on their expansive catalogue. The drum work on this record is a highlight, for sure!

This album’s a huge guilty pleasure of mine. It just feels so abrasive and raw that it perfectly reflects the nature of the band at that time. I like just about all of the tracks on this thing, Out of the Cradle possibly being my least favorite, but still fairly listenable and a fitting theme for the close of the album. After 1996’s Test For Echo, Neil Peart experienced incredibly hurtful and heartbreaking tragedies in his personal life back to back, so Rush went on a 6 year hiatus.
