This was my very first Tori Amos album so it holds a very dear place in my heart. I've also learned from interacting with other Tori fans these past few years that it's an incredibly divisive one, but nothing has dulled the shine it had for me when I was alone with it for those three years. Abnormally Attracted to Sin is without a doubt Tori's worst release. It's hard to defend her when her work post 2000 has been increasingly frustrating in vocal delivery, sonically dense, and her track listings and running time make Beowulf seem miniature by comparison. There are a few gems here (Fast Horse, Starling, That Guy, Lady in Blue, Ophelia) but unfortunately they all appear in the latter half of this overly-long album, by which time you'll have probably pressed 'stop' out of boredom. Tori Amos is an incredibly talented musician who, frustratingly, continues to make poor production choices. This album is by far her weakest offering.
