The album harnesses the band’s infectious enthusiasm for their material to make the familiar sound new again.
Consequence of Sound
The LA punk band put words and music to the fuzziest of feelings in the romantic experience.

The Regrettes have never had trouble sounding twice their age, in terms of lyric writing and musical chops. This fact is more true than ever on their second LP, as the L.A. band of teens outdo themselves in every way on How Do You Love?

Maybe the group loses some of the kinetic kick that made Feel Your Feelings Fool! such a gas, but How Do You Love? proves that Night and the Regrettes have figured out how to turn ebullient punk-pop into a sustainable source of energy.

It’s a surprisingly deep understanding of the complexities and contradictions of relationships without ever falling into the clichés of depicting a young romance while those feelings are still extremely present.
A listen that encapsulates that Polaroid summer we’re all after.
The Los Angeles band boasts a knack for propulsive, playful garage-rock and witty turns of phrase, though the formula wear a little thin over the course of 15 tracks.

it can be a little same-y, and it was an odd choice to go all out love songs (as if we needed more or that was a real challenge), but in the end the regrettes proved their worth in my mind. i was a little worried how this would sound with all the member changes, but they made some great free standing songs here

favs: how do u love, first half minus pumpkin
A lot of the songs on here sound far too similar to the rest of the tracks here, which makes them become tiring and very forgettable very quickly. Lyrically it's kind of bland too, no hooks or choruses here that I really see myself getting stuck in my head. Not really fond of this one on the whole.
On The Regrettes' sophomore album "How Do You Love?", love is the centre of the record. Whether falling in love, or breaking up, all songs are rooted in that feeling. This album came out near the end of the summer and feels perfect for that time. The teen indie rock/pop band captures the feeling of hanging out with your friends, talking about nothing but feeling great, while someone is taking polaroids. It may be too little for the extensive 15-track long album, but even in the ... read more
