Sleeping With Sirens had a huge uphill battle to fight with this album. The next generation of emo kids were not being convinced to give a shit about them after a career jeopardizing album that wound up being a critical and commercial failure, as well as label pressure, and Kellin Quinn's drug abuse could've killed them for good. After that previous album, the band were dropped (I believe) by Warner and signed to Sumerian. This was their make or break moment. Would they be able to survive ... read more
You love to hear it. After a fumble with their last album Sleeping With Sirens returns to their heavy roots. If you like full albums you can put on and really jam to in the car this might be for you. Kellin's voice is something that takes a little bit to get used to especially for a new listener like me. His voice is very high pitched. At first I thought his voice did not fit with some of the instrumentals. But I got used to it and grew to like it. On top of going for a heavier sound, the band also works in some electronic elements. I'm all for electronics in rock music and ... read more
