Nickelback is one of the most monotonous sounding bands in history, producing bottom-of-the-barrel material since their debut in 1996. Silver Side Up is the album that brought them into the mainstream eye and that is perhaps its greatest sin. It is so generic that listening to it is a pain and Kroeger’s lyrics scream “wanna-be-rockstar”, a status that he will never fully achieve. And let’s not even discuss the coincidental release date of this atrocity.
