Highsnobiety

ERYS still represents a huge step forward for Jaden. Now that he’s proven himself capable of a harder rap sound without sacrificing his artistic intent, the “icon living” is free once again to continue pushing boundaries.

Exclaim!

Jaden is an undeniable talent and is advocating to save our entire planet, so his missteps on ERYS are easily forgiven. But when packaged as a pair, Jaden's sophomore effort doesn't quite measure up to its companion.

HipHopDX

On the surface, it’s an overwhelmingly average album, and if you were to strip away all the unnecessary intermissions and segue ways, it’d probably venture into plus territory.

47
Pitchfork

The young polymath’s latest album is mostly a slog, the sound of an artist with a blurry vision and too many resources at his disposal.

The Observer

At best, it’s dreamily creative; at worst, overwrought.

💩👎

Y'know it's a slow album week when somehow Jaden Smith's album is the one getting the most attention. Honestly, I really don't have much to say. This felt so pointless! I'd say you should check out...PipePanic, Oreox4, _zeltrxn17, or literally anyone else if you're looking for an on-topic ERYS review.

In the meantime, I'm just gonna talk about my ass (STORYTIME)...

So here in Canada, we've been having like a mini-heatwave situation. Yes, this is indeed a rare phenomenon cause we ... read more

Ambition + total oblivion = Jaden Smith

The kid is trying as hard as possible to be someone/something he isn’t and it makes awkward, uncomfortable music.

Ugh.

Jaden Smith's music has, to me at lest, seemed at lest more interesting then the usual 'best in the game's, with at lest an attempt at making a strong, interesting concept. However...yeah he certainly doesn't seem to get there in terms of delivery. You can dress up a bland, boring and bad rap project all you want, but if the music sucks, then your pretty out of luck. And with a Tracklist time of more then an hour, I was absolutely dreading this one.

Still, Jaden has got some talent ... read more

stumbled home in a drunken haze just in time for friday, uber ride saved me up seven flights of stairs and ERYS cuddled me in bed. This album, reads like an ego death,
favorite track: Summertime in Paris

PINK is the juxtaposition needed alongside BLUE except the concept is held its every trope of trap absolutely blued into vocal minapulation and Jaden in stunning form, its lost and jagged and broken in every right way, Even “again” sounds well constructed in this world of ... read more

Tyler the type of dude to rhyme "sarcasm" with "orgasm" and still have a fire verse.

This album surprised me, then disappointed me in the latter half. No one needs 6+ minute tracks of Jaden. I hear the ambition though. At least he's trying something. That's a whole lot more than what I can say about his last mixtape. He seemed to take Plastic, the only tolerable song there, and made more of that here.

Also, All Gold Everything dude on a song? You can tell he loves to take ... read more
