Angus and Julia Stone have a massive following in Australia, largely thanks to the success of 2010's song "Big Jet Plane." I have to admit, I have never liked them and immediately wrote them off upon hearing that song and its indomitable rise to the top of the Australian music charts. I had no clue this was a new project from one half of the Angus and Julia Stone duo. Knowing that now I can see the connection. I originally decided to check this album out just because the vinyl, when it spins, it looks like kitty cats are moving in a colorful veil. This album gladly surprised me with how smooth and catchy the tunes are. Each song flutters with that nice ol' freak folk style. If I must compare, this is what Mac DeMarco should have released this year.
Angus Stone goes solo and is even more laid back, cool and hip. Overall he is so smooooth and sexy, that I can easily fall asleep on his lap while he is spanking me...
